SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 21, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- SunPower Corporation (Nasdaq: SPWR), a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of the world's highest efficiency, commercially available solar cells and solar panels, today announced the installation of its industry-leading solar panels in the largest commercial solar system in Silicon Valley at Microsoft's Mountain View, Calif., campus.
The 480 kilowatt solar power system converts sunlight directly into electricity to power a portion of the buildings and equipment on the Microsoft campus. SunPower's industry-leading, high-efficiency solar panels were integrated into the rooftop solar system designed and supplied by PowerLight, Corp. of Berkeley, Calif. SunPower's solar panels offer up to 50 percent more power per square foot than conventional solar technology, guaranteeing Microsoft the maximum power from their rooftop solar system.

"We're pleased to have the largest solar system in Silicon Valley using Silicon Valley's own high-tech, high-efficiency SunPower solar panels."
SunPower's high-efficiency solar panels are available for homes and businesses across California. SunPower offers an all-black solar panel that improves the appearance of solar systems while maximizing the solar power generated per square foot of roof area.
SunPower Corporation designs and manufactures high-efficiency silicon solar cells and solar panels based on an all-back contact cell design.
