SunPower Corporation's Solar System Featured on ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" Season Finale on Sunday, May 22SUNNYVALE , Calif., May 20, 2005 - SunPower Corp., a Silicon Valley-based subsidiary of Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY), today announced that its solar panels will be featured in the two back-to-back Season Finale episodes of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," airing SUNDAY, MAY 22 (7:00-8:00 & 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. The Piestewa's new home includes SunPower panels that generate a substantial portion of the family's electricity directly from sunlight.

PFC Lori Piestewa, the Native American soldier who died in Iraq, is survived by her children and parents. The Piestewa family's Flagstaff home is the first home in Arizona to be supported by a joint wind and solar electricity system. Across the country, tens of thousands of solar systems have been installed by customers who want to reduce their electric bills and take advantage of the power of the sun.

"We are pleased to be able to contribute SunPower solar panels to the Piestewa's new home, providing the family free electricity for decades to come," said Tom Werner, SunPower's CEO. "SunPower panels offer 50 percent more power on a typical residential roof compared with comparable photovoltaic products."

SunPower's solar panels have the advantage of a uniform all-black appearance that is appealing to homeowners. On the Piestewa home, the SunPower solar panels might be mistaken for a skylight, when in fact they collect sunlight and turn it into pollution-free, no-cost electricity. SunPower solar panels produce electricity on cloudy days and perform better than most other panels during hot, summer days.

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is the president of Endemol USA. The series is executive-produced by Tom Forman. The show airs Sundays (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET), on the ABC Television Network.
